Guy M. Hohmann

Founder and Principal Attorney

Guy Hohmann is the founding member of The Hohmann Law Firm. He was born and raised in Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1980 and completed his law degree from the University of Houston in 1983.

Guy spent his formative years in San Antonio working weekends and summers on a cattle ranch or hog farm with his family.  Upon graduation from college with a degree in accounting and after becoming a licensed CPA, Guy dedicated himself to law school.

Throughout Guy’s distinguished career, he has had the opportunity to be a partner with Hohmann, Taube and Summers, and most recently Hohmann, Brophy, Shelton and Weiss.

As a fourth generation Texan, Guy enjoys biking along Town Lake, hiking the Greenbelt, enjoying local cuisine, live music and the diversity of Austin with his wife Ryn.

Guy is admitted to the Texas and Colorado State Bar.

His practice includes representing or serving as a court appointed Receiver, as well as, securities fraud, commercial litigation, professional-liability litigation and insurance litigation.

  • Previously represented a federal regulatory agency against several large investment banks that sold over $1 billion of mortgage backed securities to a since failed financial institution. The claims primarily arise under the Texas Securities Act.
  • Presently serves as a Receiver in a federal court proceeding initiated by the CFTC and the SEC. The actions arise out of an international fraud affecting thousands of investors seeking to recover in excess of $30 million.
  • Represented numerous federal and state court appointed receivers in litigation against the former entity’s directors and officers, accounting and law firms.
  • Represented the class members in numerous cases against  accounting firms and law firms.
  • Represented partners and investors in fiduciary duty litigation arising out of claims under the Texas Securities Act, partnership and other agreements  against issuers, as well as, aiders and abettors.
